Refund policy

This policy sets out your cancellation and refund rights when buying from Bright Buys, operated by Alpha Academy LTD. Nothing in it affects your statutory rights.

Right to cancel (change of mind)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period expires 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you, acquires physical possession of the goods. Where an order is delivered in multiple parts, the period runs from receipt of the last item.

To exercise the right to cancel you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement, by email to support@alpha-academy.com. You may use the model cancellation form set out below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the deadline it is sufficient that you send your communication before the cancellation period has expired.

Effects of cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us).

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or, if earlier, 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, and you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. No handling, administration or restocking fee is applied.

You must send back the goods without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Exceptions to the right to cancel

The right to cancel does not apply to: sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons if unsealed after delivery; sealed audio or video recordings or computer software if unsealed after delivery; goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised; and goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. Any such exclusion is stated on the relevant product page.

Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are separate from and additional to the right to cancel. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Where they are not, you have the short-term right to reject and obtain a full refund within 30 days of delivery; thereafter we will repair or replace the goods, and where that is unsuccessful you are entitled to a refund. In all such cases we bear the cost of return and no deduction is made.
